  Press Release - National Amature Boxing justify inclusion tournament

A high – profile three-day Amateur Boxing Tournament involving Forty (40) invited Regional Amateur Boxers is scheduled for Wednesday, 30th June – Friday, 2nd  July, 2010 at the D. G. Hathiramani Sports Hall of the Ohene-Djan Sports Stadium, Accra from 2:00pm to 6pm each day.

 

The objective of the Tournament is to select talented and highly skilled boxers for daily technical and tactical training ahead of the October 2010 Commonwealth Games to be held in Delhi, India.


The Tournament which is being sponsored to the tune of GH¢4,000.00 (Four Thousand Ghana Cedis) by Mr. Dave Harper, Managing Director of Geodrill Mining Company, promises to be full of fireworks as all invited boxers will strive to gain selection. The competitors include, Azumah Mohammed, 2010 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championship Quarter Finalist. 
 

In attendance will be the Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Akua Sena Dansua, the Chief Executive of the National Sports Council, Mr. Wolanyo K. Agra and the President of the Ghana Amateur Boxing Federation, Mr. Ray Quarcoo.
 


The Ghana Amateur Boxing Federation invites the General public to come and witness this great event.
